This evening, the Spektral Quartet reprise a much loved work in their repertoire for their third season in a row: Thomas Adès’ Arcadiana. They’ll be playing the mysterious, mystifying work for the Rush Hour concert series:
It’ll be short and sweet. The movement in the video above isn’t my favorite from the piece but it’s the only one Youtube has. With a remix version nonetheless! I was hoping I’d find the part that sounds more like the Debussy/Ravel quartets, but this section seems to have more notoriety due to its Elgar reference.
This performance would have been perfect for the closing ceremonies! Oh, wait.
Never mind. Spice Girls nailed it.
